History

Rioja Santiago is a tribute to the 150-year history of the winery. Concordia brings together in this wine the authenticity of a Rioja and easy accessibility, made for drinkers of young wines who are introduced to more complete and aged wines. Modern Rioja style with marked primary aromas of fruitiness in its second year of aging.

Elaboration

The grapes come from selected vineyards with an average age of 20 years. The roots of the wine have grown deep into the calcareous clayey soil, which allows slow maturation and conceives persistence and depth. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a maximum temperature of 26ºC. Subsequently, it is aged in barrels for 12 months. Although Rioja Santiago wine is fully suitable for long aging, it is already in its optimal conditions for consumption. By reducing the aging in semi-new American oak barrels, the primary fruity aromas take on greater prominence. The result of reducing the infusion of tannins is a smoother, easier-to-drink wine.

The vineyard has drip irrigation with automatic fertilization. With a Smart Dyson driving system, devised by Richar Smart, a leading Australian oenologist who advised on the plantation. A wine made in years of exceptional quality. Aged for 18 months in new medium toasted Allier French oak barrels.
